(한국어) 소리와 시각 미술, 소리를 시각화 하는것에 관심이 생기고 여러 시도를 해보던 중 인간이 여전히  3프로밖에 알지 못하는 심해저의 소리와 모습에 궁금증이 생겼다. 

 

물 속 그리고 바다를 생각하다 우리가 알 수 없는 심해저에 내가 생각하는 판타지 세계가 있다면 어떨까 하는 생각이 들었다. 바다를 생각하다보니 자연스레 2014년 4월 16일 발생한 청해진해운 세월호 침몰 사건인 세월호 참사가 생각났다.

참사 피해자 대부분은 겨우 만 16,17년 된 미성년 학생들이었다. 경찰, 선생님 등 수많은 꿈을 가지고 있던 학생들이 내가 만든 판타지 세계에서 만은, 그들이 간 그곳에서는 꿈을 이루고 각자 살아나가게끔 해주고 싶었다. 

 

전세계적으로 자본주의가 극심화되고있다. 돈 없는 사람과 돈 있는 사람이 할 수 있고 없는 것의 격차를 벌어져만간다. 세월호 참사 학생들이 대한민국 최고의 부자들의 자녀들이었다면 참사는 일어나지 않았을 것이라 생각한다. 타이타닉 사건과 비교하며 생각해볼 거리이다.

 

내 필름에서도 피해 갈 수 없는 자본주의의 안타까움이 등장한다. 죽은 딸을 찾아간 주인공에게 파란 토큰을 지불하면서 주어지는 시간은 단 한시간이다. 딸이 어떻게 살아가는지, 보고 이야기 나누고 정다운 시간을 보내기엔 턱없이 부족한 시간이지만 주인공을 비싼 토큰을 사기 위해 일 해왔고 또 그 다음 토큰을 위해 일한다. 

 

전쟁 참사로 하늘나라로 간 사람들과 빈부격차가 극심해지는 요즘, 누구라도 이 필름을 통해 공감 또는 생각할 거리를 얻을 것이라 생각한다. 억울하게 참사를 당한 그들을 빨리 잊어버리고 내 삶에만 충실하기 보다는, 세상을 넓게 보고 끊임 없이 몰두하여 과거에서의 배움을 통한 미래를 만들어나갈 수 있기를.

(English) I became interested in sound and visual art, and visualizing sound, and while trying various things, I became curious about the sounds and appearances of the deep sea, of which humans still only know 3%.

 

Thinking about the water and the ocean, I wondered what it would be like if there was a fantasy world that I imagined in the deep sea that we cannot know. Thinking about the ocean, I naturally thought of the Sewol ferry disaster, the sinking of the Cheonghaejin Marine Company Sewol ferry that occurred on April 16, 2014. Most of the victims of the disaster were minor students who were only 16 or 17 years old. I wanted to make it so that the students who had many dreams of becoming police officers and teachers could achieve their dreams and live their own lives in the fantasy world I created.

 

Capitalism is becoming more extreme all over the world. The gap between what the rich and the poor can and cannot do is widening. I think that if the students who were killed in the Sewol Ferry disaster had been the children of the richest people in Korea, the disaster would not have happened. It is something to think about by comparing it to the Titanic disaster.

 

The unfortunate side of capitalism that cannot be avoided appears in my film as well. The time given to the protagonist who goes to find his dead daughter by paying a blue token is only one hour. It is not enough time to see how his daughter is living, talk to her, and spend quality time together, but the protagonist has been working to buy expensive tokens and works for the next token.

 

In these times when people have gone to heaven due to war disasters and the gap between the rich and the poor is growing, I think anyone can sympathize or gain something to think about through this film. Rather than quickly forgetting those who suffered unjust disasters and focusing only on my own life, I hope that I can look at the world broadly and continuously immerse myself in it to create a future through learning from the past.

 

 

 

 

(Deutsch) Ich begann mich für Klang- und visuelle Kunst sowie für die Visualisierung von Klang zu interessieren und während ich verschiedene Dinge ausprobierte, wurde ich neugierig auf die Geräusche und Erscheinungen der Tiefsee, von denen die Menschheit immer noch nur 3 % kennt.

 

Als ich an Wasser und Ozean dachte, fragte ich mich, wie es wäre, wenn es in der Tiefsee eine Fantasiewelt gäbe, die wir nicht kennen. Dabei musste ich natürlich an die Sewol-Fährenkatastrophe denken, den Untergang der Sewol-Fähre der Cheonghaejin Marine Company am 16. April 2014. Die meisten Opfer der Katastrophe waren minderjährige Schüler im Alter von 16 oder 17 Jahren. Ich wollte, dass die Schüler, die davon träumten, Polizisten und Lehrer zu werden, ihre Träume verwirklichen und in meiner Fantasiewelt ihr eigenes Leben führen können.

 

Der Kapitalismus wird weltweit immer extremer. Die Kluft zwischen dem, was Reich und Arm leisten können, wird immer größer. Ich denke, wenn die Schüler, die bei der Sewol-Fährenkatastrophe ums Leben kamen, die Kinder der reichsten Menschen Koreas gewesen wären, wäre die Katastrophe nicht passiert. Ein Vergleich mit der Titanic-Katastrophe gibt Anlass zum Nachdenken.

 

Die unheilvolle Seite des Kapitalismus, die sich nicht vermeiden lässt, zeigt sich auch in meinem Film. Der Protagonist, der sich gegen Bezahlung einer blauen Münze auf die Suche nach seiner toten Tochter macht, hat nur eine Stunde Zeit. Das reicht nicht aus, um zu sehen, wie seine Tochter lebt, mit ihr zu sprechen und wertvolle Zeit mit ihr zu verbringen. Doch der Protagonist hat gearbeitet, um teure Münze zu kaufen, und arbeitet nun für die nächste Münze.

 

In Zeiten, in denen Menschen aufgrund von Kriegskatastrophen in den Himmel gekommen sind und die Kluft zwischen Arm und Reich wächst, denke ich, dass dieser Film jedem Mitgefühl vermitteln und ihm Denkanstöße geben kann. Anstatt die Opfer ungerechter Katastrophen schnell zu vergessen und mich nur auf mein eigenes Leben zu konzentrieren, hoffe ich, die Welt umfassender betrachten und mich kontinuierlich in sie vertiefen zu können, um durch das Lernen aus der Vergangenheit eine Zukunft zu gestalten.

(한국어) 예상치 못하게 한 행동이 어떤 누군가에게 독이 될 때가 있다. 

상대방이 오히려 그 행동을 당하고도 나에게 선의를 베풀 때도 있다. 

이 예상치 못한 선의를 용기있게 받아들이고 나아가며 우리는 사회를 배운다.

그렇게 우리는 함께 성장한다.

갑상선 질병으로 아플 때 내 마음도 내 감정도 내가 아니던 때 난 내가 아픈 줄도 모르고 내가 왜 이러지 왜 남에게 상처를 주지 의아하고 당황스러웠었다. 모든것을 내 탓으로 돌리던 안타까운 시기에 병의 증상으로 우울함, 분노조절 장애, 치매까지 겹쳐 가장 힘들던 시기였다.

그런 내 모습을 보고도 여전히 옆에 있어주는 이들 덕에 많이 성장했다. 병이 나으면서야 깨닳았으니 아찔하다. 그들에게 감사하는 마음으로 꼬박 3개월을 바쳐 2분도 안되는 스톱모션 영상을 만들어내었다.

 

(Deutsch)Manchmal kann eine unerwartete Handlung für jemanden schädlich sein.

Manchmal tut mir die andere Person, selbst nachdem sie dieser Handlung ausgesetzt war, Gutes.

Wir lernen etwas über die Gesellschaft, indem wir diese unerwartete Güte mutig annehmen und weitermachen.

So wachsen wir gemeinsam.

Als ich an einer Schilddrüsenerkrankung litt, waren mein Verstand und meine Gefühle nicht meine eigenen. Ich wusste nicht, dass ich krank war. Ich war verwirrt und fragte mich, warum ich so war und warum ich andere verletzte. In dieser unglücklichen Zeit, in der ich mir selbst die Schuld gab, hatte ich die schwerste Zeit mit Depressionen, Aggressionsbewältigungsstörungen und Demenz als Symptomen der Krankheit.

Ich bin dank derer, die auch in diesem Zustand an meiner Seite waren, sehr gewachsen. Es ist schwindelerregend, weil ich das erst nach meiner Genesung erkannte. Aus Dankbarkeit widmete ich drei ganze Monate der Erstellung eines Stop-Motion-Videos, das am Ende weniger als zwei Minuten lang war.

 

 

(English)Sometimes an unexpected action can be toxic to someone. 

Sometimes the other person, even after being subjected to that action, does good to me. 

We learn about society by courageously accepting this unexpected goodness and moving forward. 

That's how we grow together.

When I was sick with thyroid disease, my mind and emotions were not mine, and I didn't know I was sick, and I was confused and wondered why I was like this and why I was hurting others. During that unfortunate time when I blamed everything on myself, I had the hardest time with depression, anger management disorder, and dementia as symptoms of the disease.

I grew a lot thanks to those who were still by my side even after seeing me like that. It's dizzying because I realized it only after I got better. With a grateful heart for them, I dedicated 3 whole months to create a stop-motion video that ended up less than 2 minutes long.
